POSTCARDS from TOLEDO, SPAIN

HOLA from Toledo, once the capital of Spain and known as the "City of Three Cultures", having been influenced by a historical co-existence of Christians, Muslims, and Jews. There are still sectors in the city which depict these religions.

San Servando Castle,
a monastery built in 1088 and then later
became a fortress from invading Muslims

More cobblestone streets

Castle El Alcazar

Catholic Cathedral

Figurines of the Last Supper above the first peak

Window in a Muslim mosque

Some shopping time in a quaint pottery shop

Jose ordering eight, foot long crusty baguette sandwiches
filled with thinly sliced Spanish ham ( no condiments)

A yummy lunch in the plaza

Time for a frozen yogurt treat in the heat of the afternoon

  1. My mouth is watering seeing the lunch you enjoyed. Cobble stone streets must of been an ankle turner. So much history.
