HEYBURN STATE PARK - DAY 2

The Trail of the Coeur d' Alenes begins in Plummer, Idaho, where at the trailhead this metal monument has been erected as a memorial to the Coeur d' Alene tribal warriors who fought for peace and justice in the 18oo's.

We biked from our campsite to Plummer about 8 miles up a 3 % grade along a forested canyon with sandstone rock faces embellished with wildflowers. The homeward ride was an exhilerating, fast coast downhill, refreshed by the warm breeze.
