PEAR CHUTNEY

It feels like fall is setting in with our cool, rainy weather. Autumn fruit is being harvested and when it ripens too quickly as my pears did, it's time to look for recipes. After some 'painful' chopping, mixing and simmering, a sweet and spicy aroma wafted through my kitchen and probably permeated into every closet. With immense satisfaction I bottled and preserved 14 little jars of delicious pear chutney this morning. It will be a perfect accompaniment with pork or chicken and I can also imagine the spicy bite to go great with Samosas. ( I can pick those up at the corner store.)

Perfect little gifts.
