HEART SMART

Valentines day - how did we celebrate it?  In the morning there were 'no sugar' chocolates for him and a sunny bunch of mums for her. A follow up visit with the internist at the hospital who sent me for more blood work and an ECG - being smart about the heart!

It was a lovely day so to give our hearts a little exercise we took a walk along the downtown lakefront.

After lunch I unearthed two shoeboxes of letters that we wrote each other over a four year courtship over forty years ago. This was the first time we  reread a few of these wonderful lifelines that kept our love alive during this long distance relationship. We had some good chuckles before we packed them away for whenever. Sharing some dark chocolate was good for the heart as well :)

We had dinner 'in' with my own version of chicken breast stuffed with Monterey Jack cheese, sauteed shallots, spinach, dried cranberries and then wrapped in prosciutto and baked along side some yams and then plated with sauteed asparagus in balsamic vinegar and a few fresh raspberries. It was a heart smart winner!
