POSTCARDS from the NORWEGIAN SPIRIT

We are having a day at sea today as we sail to our last port of Venice. There are only two days at sea in this 12 day Mediterranean cruise and so we have chosen to R&R instead of participating in the plethora of events that are offered from morning till night. Our ship, the Norwegian Spirit carries 2018 passengers and 949 crew who serve us with efficiency and pleasure. We have been out exploring on our land excursions and am getting weary of carrying a bag, my camera, and often a transmitter for narration around my neck, that I am not taking very many photos on board. This hotel at sea is great. The food is scrumptious, the evening entertainment top notch, and my travelling companions perfect!

Our little floating hotel room for 12 nights, and that is all the time we spend there.

Our room steward Barry gives us a chuckle each evening with his towel creations.

The ship has an Asian inspired decor with nice touches of polished mahogany wood, antique vases and a few samurai mannequins .

We love the 'free style sailing' which means casual dress and our choice of mealtimes.

Cheers to Arnie and Louise who are celebrating their 50th anniversary and so graciously invited us to join them on this cruise.

The windows dining room features this ceiling to floor window right at the back of the ship, a lovely place for breakfast.

Our favourite activities on these sea days are reading and playing scrabble.
I might sneak into an art auction this afternoon - just to observe.

We are having a wonderful time and look forward to our day in Venice.

Ahhh - the beautiful Mediterranean Sea
