THE END OF 2020

On this last day of 2020 we took a walk in our neighbourhood forest along Mission Creek. Newly fallen snow made everything bright and calm. The word calm did not always describe the year but today we chose to remember the good things we experienced:

In March we sold our 5th wheel trailer and bought a used but good travel trailer.

In April we celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary.

Wally recovered from Covid 19.

We enjoyed several great camping trips in our BC provincial parks, always calm and refreshing.

Backyard coffee dates and suppers at the beach were special times to meet family and friends.

An overnight road trip to Osoyoos was a great way to break up isolation at home.

Thanksgiving was a social distanced family gathering in a backyard with pumpkin pie and more.

Phone calls and FaceTime kept us close to family and friends.

Christmas was brighter than I had expected as we accepted our stay at home orders.

Our days took on a good rhythm of lazy mornings, walks, jigsaw puzzles, books and games.

Sundays routine of brunch while watching church online made that day of the week special.

Advent season had us both engaged in a wonderful devotional sent each morning from Biola University.

Tonight on this last day of 2020 we watched a beautiful performance of Handel's Messiah on TV.

My word for 2020 was FLOURISH and that I did as my faith journey was full of rich

 encounters with God.

We are anticipating great things in 2021,

Happy New Year to all my family and friends.
