TRIBUTE TO MY DAD

100 years ago, November 10, 1910 a baby boy was born and named David Henry.

David on the left at 4 years old
- possibly the earliest photo of him.

At the age of 15 he immigrated to Canada with his family.

A handsome young man who worked hard in the mines in Northern Alberta and then moved west to Vancouver Island with his family.

On October 17, 1937 David married his sweetheart Melita.

David and Melita raised 6 children of whom I am the 5th and so I highlighted cute little me.

David was a wonderful grandfather to 15 grandchildren.
Here with my 3 darling boys.

He loved to travel and was blessed to visit several continents.

There must have been a streak of adventure in him!

In 1987 David and Melita celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by family and friends. What a precious milestone.

This photo taken in 1988 may be one of the last recorded.

Mill lake in Abbotsford BC was Dad's favourite place to cast his fishing line and that is where his earthly days ended July 10, 1988 at the age of 78.

... My Dad ...
A man of God
A gentleman
A loving husband,
father, grandfather and great-grandfather
A man of integrity
A man who embodied love, joy, peace,
long-suffering, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

One of his favourite scriptures were from Psalm 103
" Bless the Lord Oh my soul and all that is within me bless his holy name."
