POSIES IN WINTER

In the gloominess of winter a bouquet of roses
 was a delightful surprise.

A small package in the mailbox was another delightful surprise. It didn't take me long to pull off the wrappings to pull out a soft, cosy, plum scarf  hand knit by my beautiful daughter. I love it!

The first bouquet was short lived and disappointedly didn't meet the criteria of locally grown, fresh roses, so they were turned in for a fresher bouquet. Unfortunately the locally grown claim was untrue - over the past years this cottage industry has produced beautiful blooms but now they arrive on a truck from warmer climates along with all other florist goods. :(

Another surprise - Stargazer lilies which are stunning and are filling my home with their perfume.
Having a birthday was a good thing!
