PEI, THE GENTLE ISLAND ( DAY 1)

I came to PEI with the conception that it is a small, idyllic island where one can crisscross from shore to shore in just mere hours. What I didn't take into consideration was that it has more than 500 miles of coastline and there are roads that wind along most of it. Idyllic and beautiful, YES! With it's gentle rolling hills of farm land and forest glades that dip down to the dark blue sea, the manicured lawns around two story heritage homes, and white churches with tall steeples at just about every cross road, made my head spin to take it all in. Confederation bridge really makes the arrival on the island magnificent. We settled into Island Home B&B in Summerside for six nights and are doing day trips to cover as much of the island as possible.
