Our home was a flurry of activity as four grandchildren were in our care for the weekend. Mornings seemed to start too early at 6:30 when one or two of them would crowd us out of our bed so that they could watch TV cartoons. The kitchen table became the crafters corner where painting supplies were available all day long. Great grandma's jar of vintage buttons were transformed into little button posies, an idea I saw recently at a crafter's market. If it wasn't play time, it was time for another snack or meal, or driving to Pioneer Girls and Boys Brigade and to a birthday party. Grampa and grandson went biking and spent hours in the basement assembling a wooden tiger. It was fun to observe the interactions between these four, aged 18 months, four, seven and ten, with good role-modeling and copy-cat moments. All in all, we had a great time and being weary today is okay, as my heart is glad.

Our kids are so blessed!! And so are us parents who got away without a single worry or concern. I love that pic of the girls all detangling! :)
