MUSING ON A RIVER

Alone on my walk I stopped and gazed thoughtfully at the river. It seemed like such a short time ago that it was rushing wildly with the spring thaw, it's boundaries flung wide demanding respect by those on the shore. And now in the heat of summer I found it relaxed and lazy with a shallow, rippling current here and there as it snaked its way through the forest. In the moment my thoughts reflected on my life's journey, sometimes rushing by with busyness, carved and smoothed by the currents of time and events, resting and soothed in seasons, and yet always on the move towards a goal, a life lived within the boundaries of God's plans in the now, and hope for an incredible future.

A lovely place for "reflection".
