BITTERSWEET OCTOBER

Today October is leaving on a dreary, dull, damp note, BUT the sight of the golden trees lining the streets put a smile on my face. My last post highlighted the predominance of golden hues in my neighbourhood, but let me show you the delightful spotlights of other rainbow colours found along the forest trails on that same walk. The turtle pond lay calm and reflective, a lone mallard duck gliding as if in a watercolour painting, and one turtle scurried into the shadows of the muddy pond floor, securing his winter hideout.

I have been impressed in a new way by the power of  The Word, God speaking all of  creation into being. Genesis 1 says:
" In the beginning God created everything .... God spoke: Earth green up! Grow all varieties of seed-bearing plants ... God saw that it was good." ( the Message )
What amazes me is the ongoing sustainability and order from season to season all because of the power of God, the WORD.

October in all its glory is literally fading away, and yet there will always be something new that will capture my attention to make my soul glad.

"I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. It would be terrible if we just skipped from September to November, wouldn’t it?..." ~Lucy Maud Montgomery

Beautiful!! We live in such a beautiful part of town. I love that quote from LMM, too. :)
