SISTERS GET- AWAY

Children of the same family, the same blood, with the same first associations and habits, have some means of enjoyment in their power, which no subsequent connections can supply... ~Jane Austen, Mansfield Park, 1814

From far and near, four sisters converged at Garden Cottage, a quaint, secluded, comfortable and quiet retreat in Comox BC, a city that truly bears commonality as it was all our place of birth at St Josephs Hospital. We had a wonderful weekend with endless conversation, crisp walks, great food, relaxation and memories to hold close to our hearts.

The cottage was tucked in a secret garden overgrown with vines spilling over arbors, eaves and mossy sheds. A garden saturated with the rain that dripped from the last blooms of summer and the weathered old apple tree that dropped its tangy sweet apples in the blustery wind.

Sisters are flowers from the same garden.

The seashore called to each of us, lost in our own childhood memories of island living.

Eagles screeched as they soared in the wind and rain

The Filberg estate is always a beautiful place to visit, the lodge hosting a lovely art show on this day.

Fall foliage made our walks so rich in colour.

Our roots say we're sisters, our hearts say we're friends
