KETTLE RIVER PROVINCIAL PARK

This is becoming a favourite place, having already camped in here in June. The pine forest remains untouched by the ravaging pine beetle which has destroyed so much of our province's forests. The Kettle River was still running full and fast but as the temperatures soared it was the place to cool off, whether just dangling in ones feet or catching the current on all sorts of floatable devices. A river is to be respected and it made me both nervous and angry to see people floating without lifejackets.

The legendary Kettle Valley Railroad bed is the best place for  walking or cycling.
