THE DEBT IS PAID

For 22 years we have travelled the ribbon of highway that links the interior of our province with the Pacific coast. On such a gorgeous fall day it is a breeze as we set the car on cruise control, BUT on any given day the vista can be shrouded in thick fog or blinding snow, making travel treacherous.
For 22 years we have come to a toll plaza where together with our fellow travelers we have dutifully handed over our $10 which collectively added to $57 million annually.
After 22 years the debt of $844 million has been paid. WOW!
The toll plaza has disappeared, the restrooms are locked ... we sail through!

Once through the mountain pass we always look forward to a view of majestic Mt. Baker

As we see the world's economy crashing and our 'Loonie' fluctuating daily, there is a lot of uneasiness based on investments that were people's hope for a bright future. We constantly hear of our countries deficit and then there is the hopelessness of  phenomenal personal debt for many Americans.
Debt can cripple or paralyze the joy and glory we were created to live in. There is such a peace to know that there is a debt that has been paid for each of us, and we just need to say thank you and appropriate the payment through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

"He paid a debt He did not owe
I owed a debt I could not pay,
I needed someone to wash my sins away.
And now I sing a brand new song
'Amazing Grace' the whole day long,
Christ Jesus paid a debt that I could never pay."
