SUMMER RAIN
Out of a clear blue sky
thunder clouds roll in menacingly.
Sweet chirps and birdsong abruptly halts -
overshadowed by a low, echoing rumble.
The mercury falls as the air cools with the
first splatters of rain blown in horizontally -
pelting windows,
washing dust and pollen from grimy greens.
Refreshing for the moment -
rain rain go away
Summer sun come back and play.

I want to plant Hostas just because I love how the water beads on the leaves. Summer rain smells so nice.
