WELCOME AUTUMN

AUTUMN EXPECTATIONS

How quickly we bid adieu to summer days

and usher in the Autumn season.

Anticipating change in wonderous ways

and it will come, we argue not, nor ask the reason.

We watch for leaves to burnish, dry and fall

and harvest moon to glow in western sky.

Lifting eyes to geese who call

their parting honks to passers-by.

Thanksgiving Day will gather friends and kin

with roasted turkey, sweetened yams and pumpkin pie.

So embrace with joy, let Autumn days begin

and expect rich blessings from our God on high.
