FOR THE BIRDS ... food that is!

It seemed like an unusual place to take family visiting from Texas, the George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary on Westham Island in the Fraser River Delta, but it served the purpose for a place to walk, visit, and do a little bird watching. Knowing it was a migratory estuary should have given me a clue that in mid summer there wouldn't be the array of bird varieties that pass through but we took pleasure on what was there, mainly Canada geese, ducks, redwing blackbirds, pigeons, grey herons and a few chickadees.
A looney's worth of bird seed in a paper bag was our treat for the birds as we walked off our lunch of fish and chips we had enjoyed at PaJos on the dock in Steveston.

Thanks Al and Doris for joining us for the day.
